What is Forest School?
Attending a traditional school is not for everyone. Often children are left feeling that they are incapable of learning or behaving in the ways that adults expect them to. However, at Adventures in the Woods, we believe that all children are competent and capable learners, especially when they learn in a setting that better suits their needs. Likewise, studies have shown that spending a significant amount of time in nature each day reduces symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, and depression in both children and adults.
Forest school offers a unique learning experience intended to replace or supplement traditional schooling. Forest school not only teaches children academic skills, but also provides opportunities for experiential learning and environmental sustainability. Children are given the chance to learn firsthand about nature and everything that our natural world has to offer.
Some other benefits of forest school includes:

-
Smaller class sizes; more one-on-one time with teachers
-
Mixed age groups
-
Entirely outdoor setting
-
Both full time and part time enrollment available according to your family's needs.
